Older and Closer

As I grow older I have noticed a pattern in everyone around me, including myself, and that is the habit of dreaming bigger and thinking younger. It seems as though age is no longer a limiting factor for how much we can succeed in our lifetime. Friends are focusing on their careers and lifestyle rather than growing a family. Age now means broader thinking, taking risks and stepping out of the lifestyle we have been led to believe is the best one. I am happy to see that everyone wants to start their own business, live a life of freedom and flexibility and explore their passions. It would be naive of me to say this without mentioning that unfortunately Covid-19 is the leading factor as to why so many people are now beginning to change lifestyles. Nonetheless, there is an obvious shift in culture which we all knew but it’s always comforting to learn you are not the only one thinking like this.

Over the past week my best friend was visiting from London with her husband. During her trip we played ‘We’re not really strangers’ a purpose driven card game and movement all about empowering meaningful connections with her husband and my boyfriend. As the game went on and conversations deepend we all came to realize that we were all walking the same road to success. We all wanted more out of life and we were all unknowingly working towards it in the same manner. It was encouraging to hear that getting older wasn’t deterring us from our dreams and hopes but moreso allowing us to think bigger. It was extremely reassuring to learn that all our thought processes more or less aligned.
